Class action attorney Matt LaMothe is a junior partner at Forrest | LaMothe.

Matt practices in the areas of: Unfair Collections Practices; Consumer Protection; Unfair Insurance Practices; Data Breach/Medical Privacy Litigation; Employment/Wage; Unfair Housing Practices; and advocates on behalf of elderly residents of Assisted Living Residences and other elderly housing.

Matt has successfully represented individuals, classes of individuals and classes of businesses in numerous consumer protection, privacy, housing, insurance and employment actions.  He has handled several appeals and has argued before the Appellate Division of the District Court, the Massachusetts Appeals Court and the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court.

From July, 2013 to October, 2019 Matt was the managing partner of The Law Offices of PIP Collect, LLC.  In addition to his managerial role, Matt successfully represented medical providers in actions against insurance companies for unpaid medical bills and secured favorable jury and bench trial verdicts in many of the cases he handled.

He received his Juris Doctor from Vermont Law School and his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Philosophy from Fairfield University.

Matt is a member of the Massachusetts Academy of Trial Attorneys, the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the Lynn Bar Association, and the Essex County Bar Association, and has presented at seminars for each of these associations.  Matt is also a member of the American Bar Association and has judged ABA moot court competitions in Boston.  Matt has volunteered at Lawyer for a Day Programs of the Essex County Bar and Northeast Legal Aid. Matt is also the former Vice President and current Treasurer of the Board of Directors of Camp Fire North Shore, and has served on the Board since 2011.
